Recently we removed popcorn in a home in the Wekiva area of Seminole County. The popcorn was not painted but had a heavy coat of orange peel texture on it, so it made removing just a little bit difficult. The joints were completely reskimmed so it had a fresh look to it, as well we did some drywall repair work in the home. This particular house had 3 very tall skylights with minimum clearance to get in and this made removal a bit difficult.
After the removal, we sprayed the texture and let it dry for two days to come back and paint. I put a bead of caulk throughout the entire house were the ceiling met with the walls so it would leave a nice line for when the walls were painted. We first painted the ceiling with a all-in-one primer and paint that the homeowner purchased for us to use. The color turned out to be a little on the glossy side so we redid the ceiling in a flat finish. It gave it less of a sheen and came out perfect. We also repainted the walls completely. The total project took 6 days to complete, from removal to an entire new coat of paint.
Ari and Luis did an excellent job of removing the popcorn and reapplying knockdown texture. The skylights were extremely challenging, but also came out excellent. When I am ready to do the remaining bedrooms, I will be happy to have Ari perform the work.
