Masking off for popcorn removal

Here is a video of us masking off a bedroom for the removal process.  This is done throughout the entire house to make sure popcorn doesn’t go all over the floors or furniture.

Mike’s in the Wekiva area

Recently we removed popcorn in a home in the Wekiva area of Seminole County.  The popcorn was not painted but had a heavy coat of orange peel texture on it, so it made removing just a little bit difficult.  The joints were completely reskimmed so it had a fresh look to it, as well we did some drywall repair work in the home.  This particular house had 3 very tall skylights with minimum clearance to get in and this made removal a bit difficult.

After the removal, we sprayed the texture and let it dry for two days to come back and paint.  I put a bead of caulk throughout the entire house were the ceiling met with the walls so it would leave a nice line for when the walls were painted.  We first painted the ceiling with a all-in-one primer and paint that the homeowner purchased for us to use.  The color turned out to be a little on the glossy side so we redid the ceiling in a flat finish.  It gave it less of a sheen and came out perfect.  We also repainted the walls completely.  The total project took 6 days to complete, from removal to an entire new coat of paint.

Removing popcorn in Orlando

If you are reading this then you have decided that it is probably time to remove your popcorn ceilings. We really do not blame you for doing that, since popcorn falls down over time and becomes dirty. A few things you should know before the process starts is that popcorn may contain asbestos if your home was built in the 70’s and if the ceilings were also painted, then lead paint can also be a factor. With that said, this website is made for the homeowner so they can see all of our videos and pictures that we will start taking of various popcorn removal projects in Orlando. We would love to hear from you after we have removed your popcorn, so please post a positive thought!

Erica in the Oviedo area

This is Erica’s house in Oviedo, Fl. She removed the popcorn in the rooms she could do herself, but her 18ft high vaulted ceiling was to much. Without proper equipment that job can just be to much. We got the call and were more then happy to accommodate her. We also sprayed her two bedrooms in the upstairs that she did herself. A month or so later we came back and also sprayed the remaining upstairs rooms and did some light touch up on the drywall joints.

Fox Residence in Gotha

Painted Popcorn Vaulted Ceiling RemovalThis is the Fox residence in Gotha.  This project was a bit difficult because the vaulted ceiling was painted with a semi gloss paint, so we had to remove the paint first, which you can see in the picture behind me, and then we were able to scrape off the popcorn.  The paint was carefully peeled off into a big sheet and was balled up and discarded.  It wasn’t very heavy but it was large!  The house had a divider in between the kitchen that was open so the whole ceiling went through both rooms.  It took us two days to remove the popcorn because of the paint, but once the paint was off, the popcorn came down very easy.  We had to repair the joints after along the vault since it was heavily damaged and rotted over time.
